We’re delighted to open the CMap Summer 2020 Release in Beta! Here’s some important information you need to be aware of:
Beta opens Tue 29 June, with the Live launch following on Mon 12 July. This means you have a two-week head start to get familiarised and prepared before the functionality is rolled-out to your colleagues on Live
Beta runs on your LIVE database, this is not a “test” environment. Anything you do in Beta, you are doing for real. We also recommend that you limit the number of people using the Beta to a small, core group to ensure optimal performance
This is the update that you quite literally cannot miss! Never ones to rest on our laurels here at CMap HQ, we’ve given CMap an evolutionary UI update.
To make improved use of screen real estate, we’ve consolidated a number of the tabs (e.g. Resourcing & HR now comes under “People”) and introduced a slick new menu bar.
Excitingly, it’s opened up the introduction of in-app announcements, which you’ll find waiting for you when you log in! This means we can do an even better job in the future of keeping you updated with news, new features, and more.
With geographically dispersed teams set to play a greater role in the future, the issues of team communication and collaboration have skyrocketed up the agenda.
In response to this, we accelerated our plans to integrate with Microsoft Teams, which has become mission critical to huge numbers of companies over these last few months.
The integration enables you to automatically create project teams & channels in MS Teams and, for customer’s subscribed to CMap Documents, you can access Teams files within your projects in CMap… and more! It’s very exciting.
We’ve given our activities functionality a major upgrade. Activities now have their own dedicated pages, with the introduction of the Grid view to enable quick and easy filtering, as well as Calendar & Gantt views.
Other changes include customisable categories, tools to update responsible people and dates en masse, a shiny new dashboard box, the ability to add Activity Templates whenever you like, and more!
Possible use cases include: managing project tasks, account planning, employee off-boarding, credit control, quality assurance, compliance… it’s a huge leap forward.
The popular CMAP For Outlook and CMAP Go apps will receive new versions at the end of the Beta period, with updated UI’s.
You can now push out the latest default dashboard to security group members & prevent users from editing their dashboard
If you move a stage end date beyond the project end date, CMAP will now automatically update the project end date for you!
You can now proudly display your company logo in a new, specially designed dashboard box, if you so wish!
